Spanglish boom-bap trio Grupo HNE pays homage to Puerto Rico in their latest record, "La Doce." The track features a retro Spanish sample, enriched with sparkling piano keys, plucky textures, and a commanding vocal sample. This musical journey is revamped by the duo DJ Heron and multi-instrumentalist Nando, who infuse the mix with a classic boom-bap and modern hip-hop twist.
Rapper DJ Exes showcases his love for his roots and home country through a blend of Spanglish and cultural references. "La Doce," meaning twelve, is aptly named as it is the final track on the group’s debut LP, Calle HNE. The visual accompaniment captures the trio enjoying a hearty meal and exploring Miami’s vibrant nightlife.
Grupo HNE, members of the Lo-Life Miami Family, have collaborated extensively with Lo-Life General, Thirstin Howl The 3rd. This year, they’ve been dropping musical bombs at a rapid pace.
